Just prior to the Cremation of Care, numerous effigy's are scattered throughout the Grove. This one is taken to the ceremony via this horse-drawn hearse where it is given over to the Grimm Reaper!

The Grimm Reaper awaits the body aboard this boat. He then rows across the lake over to the owl where he delivers it to the high priests for burning!

This effigy lays around the lake all day awaiting his fate in the ceremony commencing sometime after night-fall.

These wooden effigies lay casually up against a tree - one rightside-up and the other upside-down.

This effigy is the one which is actually burned on the alter before the owl. This picture, taken from inside the owl, is where it is stored throughout the year except for its one lucky day in July when it is "burned once again."

Taken before the Bohemians had risen, this photo displays the effigy still upon the alter as it had just been burned the night before! Again, notice the potium for the Lakeside Talks in the background.

This is looking down upon the same effigy; the ashes from its flamable eterior can be seen at the bottom of the fire pit. Oh, if these stones could talk!
